Hurghada - a diverse city with something for everyone

Hurghada started life as a small fishing village in the early 20th century. It has now grown into one of the most popular resorts on the Red Sea. The city appeals to all ages and lifestyles; teenagers wanting to party all night, sports enthusiasts, spending their days windsurfing and sailing, divers, admiring the beauty found within the Red Sea  and sun worshippers, enjoying the lazy days sat in the year round sunshine. 
Hurghada is popular with tourists wanting to explore the rest of Egypt as its location to the magnificent sights cannot be beaten. Luxor is only a 3.5 hour drive away and Cairo a 6 hour drive or a 1 hour flight. You can enjoy all aspects of Egypt in a week long holiday.
During the daytime many tourists spend their day making the most of the sunshine, either relaxing on the beach or joining a boat trip to one of the beautiful islands close by:

•    Orange Bay
You can also get to swim with wild dolphins in the Red Sea!
Sharm El Naga is just a 45 minute drive away from Hurghada. Here you will find a beautiful beach and some of the best off shore snorkelling and diving in the area.
As Hurghada is surrounded by desert and mountains, what better way to spend an afternoon than quad biking through the desert. You can also visit a local Bedouin village, ride a camel or enjoy a horse ride along the beach. 
In the evening the city comes to life! The new Marina is a great place to eat with amazing restaurants and bars. It's a great place to sit and people watch, whilst admiring the luxurious yachts moored there. The main street in Hurghada is Sheraton St. this is where you will find bazaars selling local souvenirs and lots of shops selling the most fashionable handbags and trainers, haggling is a must! There are also bars, restaurants and hotels along Sheraton St. sit and watch the crazy drivers winding their way along the road and listen to to taxis beeping their horns to get attention. Mamsha is located only 5 minutes drive away from the main street, however, this area is more laid back with its shopping  and bars, restaurants. A nice relaxing walk along the long, wide promenade is just whats needed after a nice dinner. You can also find some of Hurghadas famous nightclubs along Mamsha, if you want to party all night long!
Only 30 minutes away from Hurghada City you will find the cosmopolitan areas of El Gouna and Sahl Hasheesh. Here you can enjoy a more European lifestyle, with beautiful beaches, restaurants and evening entertainment.
If you want a more local experience, you can visit the Souk in Dahar. This is where you will find locals going about their business, buying their produce and sitting in coffee shops, drinking tea and smoking shisha. There are many stalls selling street food, such as Hawawshy, koshery, foul and falafel and also, fresh juice stalls, where you can enjoy fresh orange juice or mango juice, dependent on the season. However, you can always sit and enjoy the sweet juice from the sugar cane.
Hurghada is a growing city with many tourists visiting each year and the international airport receives flights from around the world everyday. It is a great place to visit, with everything on your doorstep, including year round sunshine, great hotels, amazing food & drink and lots of traditional, local life around every corner.
