Cairo — the capital of Egypt and the biggest metropolis in Africa and the Middle East. The city with the population about 20 million inhabitants, it is located on the both banks of the Nile river stretching in all directions and reaching the feet of pyramids. Until this day, Cairo remains the heart of politics, culture and economy of the whole Arab world. Cairo fascinates with local markets, churches, mosques, citadel and wonderful Egyptian Museum.
The departure from Marsa Alam is in night time between 10.30 pm and 11 pm. It takes about 8 hours to reach Cairo. On the way to Cairo, the assistance is provided to all participants by English speaking tour guide. The estimated arrival time to Cairo is 9 am. We visit the Egyptian Museum, established in 1902, along with English speaking tour guide. There are 100 rooms housing 120 thousand items, which represent a magnificent civilization of the ancient Egypt. Inside the museum , you can admire the famous room dedicated to excavations from Tutanthamom’s tomb in Luxor( a golden mask and sarcophagi), the collection of fayum portraits, royal mummies ( the room with royal mummies costs extra 100 LE) , pharaohs statues, for example Ramses II, Tutmosis III and their wives, as well as Egyptian gods and goddesses.
Lunch is served in the form of buffet-style table in restaurant. Drinks are paid extra. The next point on the journey is Giza. We admire three, the most famous pyramids: Chops, Khafre, Mykerinos and the largest statue of a lion-man–the Great Sphinx. You can enter the interior of the pyramid of Mykerinos (cost 30LE). We also visit Perfume Palace and the papyrus institute. The return to Marsa Alam is scheduled at around 2am.
Optional, there is a motorboat cruise on the Nile, 6-8$ paid at the tour guide.
