You enjoy relaxing by the Red Sea, but you also want to learn about the history of ancient Egypt. You have dreamt about seeing the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, visiting the magnificent temples and sailing across the Nile, the longest river in the world. Why not take the unique opportunity of a plane trip to Luxor from Sharm el Sheikh.
Luxor is often called the world's largest open-air museum, but this cannot describe this extraordinary place. Nothing in the world can match the scale and size of the relics that have survived from ancient Thebes. The beautiful surroundings are breathtaking. The Nile flowing between the modern city and the necropolis on the West bank is supported by the enigmatic Theban Escarpment. Scattered all over the landscape, from the temples of Karnak and Luxor in the East to the many tombs and temples on the West bank. The splendor and power of Thebes, legendary in antiquity, began to attract Western travelers from the end of the 18th century.
Depending on the current political and global situation, today's tourist may be alone in a historic place or be surrounded by coaches full of tourists from all over the world.
